Seasonal Fun

Holiday Family Fun in the Windy City

Welcome to the windy city, Chicago Il. The city really lives up to its name when the seasons change from fall to winter! We took to the road over the Thanksgiving weekend for some fun family travel. It was a weekend away to kick off the holiday season.

We had two fun adventures picked out for the weekend. Our first stop was the Lincoln Park Zoo for their annual holiday Zoolights. The zoo lights up at night with fun displays, holiday themed activities, hot drinks and sweet treats. This is a fun activity for all ages!

Our next day was also filled with holiday lights and festive sights. We visited the Museum of Science and Industry for their exhibit of Christmas around the World and Holidays of Light. During the holidays, the museum is filled with more than 50 trees displaying traditions from around the world.

In addition to the light display, we took in what the museum has to offer with their science and technology exhibits along with Lego City and the Colleen Moore Fairytale Castle.

No trip to Chicago would be complete without a walk along the Magnificent Mile! The Magnificent Mile is centered around the area of North Michigan Ave. The area is known for its historic buildings, restaurants, shopping and events throughout the year.

On this trip we chose to stay at the Hilton Chicago/Magnificent Mile. We were able to book a suite to fit our family and could walk to all the shops and restaurants in the area. We found a very family friendly atmosphere and was especially impressed with the restaurants and their attentiveness toward kids and families.

What a fun way to kick off the holiday season! A truly easy trip that was fun for the entire family.
