Reward Travel

Reward travel also plays into our travel strategy. Due to living int he Minneapolis area, we fly Delta Airlines quite a bit. I feel Delta Sky Miles has a great travel reward program in cooperation with American Express. Along with accruing miles with every purchase, if you opt for the Platinum card, you are given a companion airline ticket each year to travel within the continental United States.

Another nice advantage of their reward program is that the miles do not expire. This is beneficial as you can use your credit card purchases to accrue miles even if you don’t travel a lot. Without an expiration date, you can save those miles up over a long period of time.

Reward travel is different for everyone and not one plan fits everyone’s lifestyle. It matters where you live in the country, it matters how much you travel, it matters what type of lodging you use. Reward travel is not only for airlines but for hotel chains, rental car companies, banks and credit card companies.

Do your research and figure out which rewards fit your lifestyle and which rewards will benefit your travel experiences the most.
